Papirøen

ARCHITECT: COBE

FACADESYSTEM: Woodfac Panel

Copenhagen's new and attractive district in the heart of the harbor is called Papirøen. Here you will find 300 apartments, including social housing, youth housing, a shared apartment and condominiums, which now include the most expensive apartment in Copenhagen.

The houses are built with the highest quality materials and the 151 homes have been awarded the Gold sustainability certificate.

In addition to brick as the main material, wood is also a material that can fill out and complete the exclusive look. Wood is a recurring theme both inside and out, and Woodfac Panel plays an important role in this.

Woodfac Panel is installed on balconies and acts like a closed building envelope that protects the building.

ThermoAsk slats measuring 34x34 mm and with a cc spacing of 70 mm were selected for the paper island.

A special feature of this project is the patination of all slats, which are pre-patinated for 6 months before installation. This creates an exclusive and uniform look in grayish tones that completes the desired architectural style.

Nordisk Profil offers natural pre-patinating of optional wooden slats and controls the patination process from the start of production to the ready-to-install slats.
