Student residences in Hermodsgade

ARCHITECT: Holscher Nordberg

FACADESYSTEM: Woodfac Panel

The former Electrolux factory building on Hermodsgade in Copenhagen has been converted into 189 student residences.

The project is a fine example of the conversion of an 87-year-old building into a new sustainable building. Instead of demolishing, it often makes more sense to create new buildings from existing ones. Holscher Nordberg has achieved this in a wonderful way and with great respect for the existing architecture and history of the building.

In 2022, the student residence was nominated for the Renoverprisen, which recognizes the best renovation projects every year. Read more about the project here; Student residence in Hermodsgade - Renoverprisen.

Among other things, the building was renovated with the Woodfac Panel façade system - a closed façade system with wooden slats that acts as a climate screen and protects against the effects of the weather while allowing the building to breathe. The wooden slats are sustainable and have been fire-tested several times.

Nordisk Profil has control over fire and safety and offers the Woodfac façade system, which as an installed façade system is the only product on the market classified and tested to B-s1,d0 / B-s2,d0.
