Thermo Spruce Premium is the ideal choice when brown slats with an almost knot-free structure are required.

Western red cedar

Western Red Cedar is an excellent choice for slat cladding.

The wood is not thermally treated, but has a natural resistance to rot and fungi, comparable to thermally treated wood.  

This type of wood also has a low density, which gives it good insulating properties and makes the material easy and pleasant to work with. Despite these properties, it is extremely durable and robust. In addition, it has been tested as a façade system in end-use tests and has a documented fire classification.

Accoya is a beautiful, sustainable material with Cradle to Cradle Gold certification.

The appearance is bright and natural, the quality is first-class and the service life is impressive at over 50 years.  

The wood is not thermally treated, but produced by a process in which its cell structure is modified to improve its resistance and dimensional stability.  

Accoya is ideal for building projects where the fire protection classification D-s2,d2 can be applied.

Woodfac Click is an open system with optional wooden slats on an underlying aluminum structure. With a view of the building's load-bearing façade, it is possible to compose a lively architecture created by light, shadow, materials and design.

The system offers corner solutions, various cover profiles, solutions for curved façades and reinforcement profiles that enable a high clearance in both horizontal and vertical directions.

Woodfac Click is particularly suitable for cladding parking garages .

The open façade system makes it easy to give parking garages a certain "wow factor". Many parking garages are built in the middle of beautiful apartment blocks. Why shouldn't they look just as inviting as their surroundings and their environment?

With wooden slats as cladding, you have the opportunity to build beautiful and timeless parking spaces with a natural and warm appearance that develops a beautiful patina over time.

Woodfac Panel is a closed system that functions like a building envelope. The system consists of optional wooden slats that are mounted on aluminum panels. The aluminum panels protect the building from the elements and are equipped with a ventilation system that allows the façade to "breathe".

The panel solution comprises variable single, double and corner panels with punched holes for façade screws, which are concealed when the panels are clipped together.

The system offers a wide range of accessory profiles for finishing and edging doors, windows (glazing profiles) and other façade elements.

WOOD FLOUR

Wooden slats are made from FSC®- or PEFC™-certified wood, ensuring sustainable and responsible forestry.

A Cradle to Cradle-certified flame retardant is used for the fire impregnation of the wooden slats, which consists of 100% natural substances, is free of toxic and VOC emissions and is completely biodegradable.  

The thermal treatment of the slats ensures dimensional stability and an exceptional service life of up to 50+ years, depending on the type of wood.

THERMAL MOVEMENT

Thermal movement refers to the natural expansion and contraction of materials as a result of temperature fluctuations.

Thermal movement is integrated into all our façade solutions so that the individual components can move independently of each other. This ensures that there is no internal stress, strain or structural damage to the individual components or the entire façade solution.

ALUMINUM STRUCTURE

The structure and profiles of the façade system are made from certified recycled aluminum.

Greenline® aluminum is made from 100% collected and recycled aluminum and has an extremely low carbon footprint of only 1.8 kg CO₂-eq./kg, compared to primary aluminum, which has a footprint of 11.1.

WOODEN SLATS FOR THE EXTERIOR - WHEN THE FAÇADE NEEDS TO IMPRESS

Wood is an excellent, CO₂-reducing material for use as façade slats in outdoor areas.

Nordisk Profil recommends various types of wood that are particularly suitable for exterior façades due to their dimensional stability, resistance, durability and fire protection class.  

The wood species differ in their appearance due to their colors and knot patterns. Regardless of the type of wood, however, façade slats develop a patina over time that takes on gray tones and nuances. The patina depends on the position of the façade and the environmental influences.  

There may be a desire to use pre-patinated slats, as was the case with the exclusive Papirøen construction project, for example. There, all the slats were evenly patinated before installation - a process that Nordisk Profil undertook in collaboration with the architect and client.
